Olivia Loccisano is a Toronto-based filmmaker whose work focuses on transformations of the body through dark fantasy, body horror and magical realism. Her narratives explore how women and girls navigate life through their own imagination and rituals.

Her stop-motion film POCKET PRINCESS (2024) was nominated for Best Animated Short at the British Urban Film Festival (BUFF) and the Chicago Horror Film Festival. The film is currently in its festival circuit, including official selections at Popcorn Frights, Ramaskrik Film Festival, Razor Reel Flanders Film Festival, and had its Toronto premiere at Blood in the Snow.

Her debut short film FIRST BLOOD (2023, ALTER) received critical acclaim for its exploration of menstruation and vampirism, screening at festivals including Fantasia International Film Festival, Chicago International Film Festival, Final Girls Berlin, and Blood in the Snow. The film was awarded the L'ombre du Jury (Jury Prize) at Paris in the Dark Film Festival and was nominated for the Etheria Spirit Award at Nightmares Film Festival. FIRST BLOOD was developed from her script, SIMONE, which won Best Short Screenplay at the Renegade Horror Film Festival in 2022.

She is currently producing the stop motion short film ENCORE directed by Catherine Hois.

Olivia’s work is supported by the Canada Council for the Arts (CCA), Ontario Arts Council (OAC), Toronto Arts Council (TAC) and the National Film Board of Canada (NFB).
